Here are a few of the professors that I have had the pleasure and honor to work for and with over the years. They have become my friends and mentors and have graciously offered to serve as references for me.

Dr. Norman Evans co-taught the LING 611 and 612 classes and taught the LING 677 class in which I participated. Dr. Evans has observed me teach during my student teaching practicum, and currently serves as my thesis chair and adviser.

Nicholas David

Nick David became an Executive Council member at the ELC (English Language Center) at BYU during the fall of 2013 and subsequently one of the ESL Writing Lab Directors, underneath Dr. Norman Evans, where I was a Writing Lab tutor. Furthermore, Mr. David and I co-presented at the TESOL conference in Portland, OR and anticipate publishing an article in a Writing Center journal about resources for ESL Writing Centers.

Teresa Martin

Teresa Martin hired me to work at the ESL Writing Lab on BYU Campus where I worked from the fall of 2012 through the winter of 2014. Mrs. Martin was on the Executive Council at the ELC until her three year period ended in the spring of 2013, and was replaced as ESL Writing Lab director by Nick David.

Dr. Baker-Smemoe was my professor for LING 601 and also served as the graduate adviser to the SLRF (Second Language Research Forum) committee, a graduate committee that gives the opportunity for graduate students to plan a conference, where I served as co-chair from Fall 2012 - Fall 2013. Furthermore, she also serves as the graduate adviser for the Linguistics Graduate Student Society (GSS) where served as President in planning graduate student activities from Fall 2013 - Winter 2014.

Dr. Locey hired me to work at the writing center at the end of my freshman year. I served as a writing TA for Dr. Locey's classes such as English 101, English 102, and Mythology. Also, I took several courses from Dr. Locey including Honors English 112, Grammar and Stylistics, Advanced Composition, and American Literature: Civil War - Millennium, and was honored to have her as my adviser for my senior honors thesis: O Pioneers! Dr. Dobkins worked as the Brenau University Writing Center Director where I worked as Writing Center Tutor for over three years, and I presented at several Writing Center Conferences with her including in Nashville, TN and Savannah, GA. I also worked as a Writing Course Tutor under her direction for several classes, including English 101, English 102, Mythology, Art History, and Current Global Issues. I was fortunate to take several classes from Dr. Dobkins including Southern Literature, British Literature: Romanticism to Postmodernism, and a Special Topic: South on Film, and I was nominated as the co-editor for magazines created in each of these classes for the purpose of a group final project. Dr. Brim hired me as an Assistant Editor, and later Editor, for Brenau's Literary Magazine The Elixir. Under her direction, I was a part of the Media Board committee for Brenau University and assisted with the Georgia Poetry Circuit at Brenau. I also had the opportunity to take classes from Dr. Brim including Introduction to Creative Writing, an Independent Study for Creative Writing: Poetry, and American Literature: Winthrop-Whitman. I was also selected by her as the recipient of a writing scholarship to attend the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) in Atlanta, GA.
